Have you ever felt that you were drowning? That emotionally you cannot take all your responsibilities another minute? You life is chaotic and stressful. Your mind becomes clouded by the task at hand. The rope that might save you from drowning is now fraying. Juggling between work, family and our personal needs, it’s easy to get sucked into the never-ending list of to-dos and end up feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Feeling overwhelmed is completely normal and has many faces. It might manifest itself as an intense emotion, such as anxiety, worry, doubt, feeling of helplessness. You just want to cry or just lash out. What to do? Get back to a place of controlling ease. Taking time for space and rest, from people or situations. And finding your support system...a special family member or your art friends. My painting expresses a woman's feelings of drowning. It is the feeling of dead weight.
This assemblage is currently in my retrospective exhibition "Observation Stories: The Wild Years" at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum in Ormond Beach, Florida until October 15, 2023.
