A Thousand Moments of Joy

With all the horrible school shootings, the unprotected abortion rights for young girls and woman due to rape or incest, our basic freedoms being altered or eliminated, increased domestic violence, and many more…I had to change my path, for a moment, to focus on the good we experience. In this assemblage, I have expressed a thousand moments of joy represented by white origami birds suspended in front of my joyful face. Each bird has words written to document an act of kindness or a moment of joy: the hug from a grandchild, the quiet encouragement of a friend, the smiling eyes, the graciousness of a stranger. Each one needs to be remembered and celebrated.
